- Miss Nettie Nelson, age 24, daughter of Hans Nelson, died suddenly Saturday morning at the farm house of her father in Greenwood township. Death attributed to pneumonia, followed an illness of only a few days, and came unexpectedly as a great shock to the Nelson family and to friends throughout the community. Miss Nelson had been home from Chicago on a vacation and was nearing the close of a three weeks visit with home folks when almost without warning her life was cut short in untimely death. Miss Nelson was born and lived since childhood in the vicinity of Clearbrook, spending the last few years in Chicago where she had a position. Deceased is survived by the father, step-mother, and several sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Clearwater church, Rev. Nesseth officiating.

Nettie was the fourth daughter of Hans and Anne (Ostenvik) Nelson. She moved out of the house and went to Chicago. She was a waitress downtown and lived with her friend who was also from Minnesota, Alvina Powers. Nettie never married. [1]
