Timothy Jon Baker, 43, of Kerkhoven died Thursday at his home following an extended illness.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church with the Rev. Donald Block officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Kerkhoven and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials are preferred.
He was born March 8, 1959, in Benson to Sheldon and Donna (Paaverud) Baker. He grew up in Kerkhoven, graduating from Kerkhoven High School in 1977. He married Naomi Powers on June 9, 1990, in rural Paynesville. He worked at Baker Motor Sales, the family business, for 25 years.
He was a member of the Kerkhoven Lutheran Church where he served as a deacon. He served the Kerkhoven Fire Department for 21 years, serving as fire chief, assistant chief and engineer for a number of years. He was active in the Kerkhoven Sportsmans Club, Simon Lake Hunting Club and the Kerkhoven Fishing Group. He played baseball with the Norway Lake Lakers from his high school years until 1990.
He is survived by his wife; children Briana and Kyle at home; parents of Kerkhoven; three brothers, Kent (and Judy) Baker of Kerkhoven, Terry (and Diane) Baker of New Bern, N.C., Kevin Baker of Madison, Wis., and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.«/i»
